Refunds

Pick an option below for help with refunds.

As a heads up:

  • Gift cards bought from a store can’t be refunded by Spotify. If you’re having trouble redeeming, check out help with gift cards
  • If you subscribed to Premium through another company, such as your broadband/mobile provider, or with iTunes, you should contact that company for any refund requests.

First, check with your family or friends to make sure someone you know didn’t subscribe with your details. You can follow these steps to cancel those payments.

If you think your details have been used without authorization, get help here.

If you don't have an account and need to contact us about a payment, follow these steps:

  1. Go to this contact form and select Subscription, then Charged more than before, then I STILL NEED HELP.
  2. Select Premium as your subscription.
  3. Choose Unknown as your username.
  4. Enter the email address you'd like us to contact you on.
  5. Describe your issue and submit.

If you notice more than one monthly Spotify payment, first check:

  • The payments went through. If any are marked as ‘pending’ on your bank statement, that means they were unsuccessful, so will be returned to you by your bank. Check payment troubleshooting for more help with failed payments.
  • If you've upgraded to Premium for Family, your payment date is brought forward to cover the increased subscription cost. You can check this on your subscription page.

Otherwise, it's possible you have more than one account subscribed to Premium. It’s best to try logging out and back in with any other email addresses you have to find it. Here are some other ways to find accounts too

If you do find any other accounts, follow these steps to cancel those payments.

If you get a Spotify charge after canceling your subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account page
  2. Click Subscription in the menu on the left.
    • If the subscription page shows you're on Spotify Free, the account is not being charged. Any charges are likely from another account that's active on Premium. Check for other accounts
    • If the subscription page shows you're on Spotify Premium, try the cancel process again and ensure you reach the final confirmation screen.
    • If the subscription page shows you have Premium provided by a partner company (e.g. your broadband/mobile provider or iTunes), you may need to contact that company to cancel.

Our student discount expires after a year, after which your subscription automatically continues at the standard monthly rate. But you can reapply the discount if you’re still a student.

Note: It’s only possible to reapply the student discount a maximum of 3 times, covering a total of 4 years.

If you’ve had the student discount for less than 12 months, it’s possible you have another account subscribed to Premium. It’s best to try logging out and back in with any other email addresses you have to find it. Here are some other ways to find accounts too
