AI Persona Badging
What is the AI Persona badge on Spotify?
AI Persona badges help you understand when an artist's identity is an AI-generated photorealistic person.
What is an AI Persona?
An AI Persona is an artist on Spotify with an AI-generated photorealistic human-like identity, meaning the artist's visual identity is AI-created in a way that could lead you to believe they're a real person. The badge doesn’t mean that the music itself was AI-generated.
What does the AI Persona badge look like?
Starting in mid-September, you'll see an AI Persona badge on an artist profile and can click on the badge to see whether the artist transparently shared that they're an AI Persona or if Spotify had to review and make an informed determination.
Where can I see the AI Persona badge?
Right now, the AI Persona badge is available on mobile only. You can see it in these places:
- Artist Profile: a badge at the top of the page
- Artist Details: included within the expanded artist info
- Search: visible on the artist card in results
- Track rows in playlists
Does the badge mean the music is AI-generated?
Not necessarily. The AI Persona badge specifically labels the artist's visual identity as AI-generated - not the music itself. An artist with the badge may release music that's fully human-made, fully AI-generated, or a mix of both.
Can I still listen to AI Persona artists?
Yes. You can listen to, follow, and interact with AI Persona artists just like any other artist on Spotify.
Will I still see AI Persona artists in my recommendations?
Music from AI Personas will not be included in any editorial or algorithmic recommendations, unless you show intentional engagement signals, like following an AI Persona artist, for example.
