Spotify on Alexa devices
Use voice commands to control what plays with Amazon Alexa.
Supported devices
- Amazon Echo
- Amazon Echo Dot
- Amazon Echo Spot
- Amazon Echo Show
- Amazon Tap
- Amazon Fire TV Cube
- Facebook Portal / Portal+
- All Sonos players
Link Spotify to Alexa
- Download and open the Alexa app.
- Tap the menu in the top-left.
- Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
- Select Spotify, then Link account to Alexa.
- Log in to your Spotify account.
Set Spotify as the default
Make it so you don’t have to say “on Spotify” at the end of your voice commands:
- In the Alexa app, tap the menu in the top-left.
- Tap Settings, then Music & Podcasts.
- Tap Choose default music services.
- Select Spotify and tap DONE.
Note: You still need to say “on Spotify” at the end of commands to play podcasts.
Now just ask Alexa to play something, e.g. "Alexa, play Discover Weekly".
For more information and voice commands you can use, check out the Amazon help site.
