Spotify Connect

With Spotify Connect, you can use your app as a remote to play on speakers, receivers, TVs, cars, smart watches, and other phones, tablets, or computers.

Tip: Check out Spotify Gear to get a speaker with Spotify Connect built in or a device that will upgrade an existing TV or stereo system for use with Spotify Connect. If you don’t know whether your device is compatible with Connect, you can check with the manufacturer.

Note: Local files can’t be played with Spotify Connect.

Get started

  • If you're playing to a speaker, receiver, or TV, make sure all devices are on the same WiFi network the first time you connect.
  • If you're playing to another phone, tablet, or computer, make sure all devices are logged into the same Spotify account.
  • Your phone, tablet, or computer must have the most up-to-date version of the Spotify app.
  • The firmware must be up-to-date on your device.

After setup, select your device below for how to use Spotify Connect.

  1. In the bottom-right, click the Connect to a device button .
  2. From the Devices Menu, select the device you'd like to play on.
