Cancel

You can cancel your subscription any time. No hard feelings :)

This will revert your account to our Free ad-based service after any remaining Premium time runs out.

Here’s how to cancel per type of subscription.

  1. Log in to your account page.
  2. Click Subscription in the menu on the left.
  3. Click CHANGE OR CANCEL.
  4. Click CANCEL PREMIUM.
  5. Click YES, CANCEL.

Note: Your account page now shows the date you’ll return to the Free service. We hope you decide to upgrade again!

You can also cancel by completing this form and sending it to Spotify.

I can’t see the option to cancel on my account page

If your subscription status says you’re on Spotify Free, it’s likely you have another account that's active on Premium. This guide will help you find and cancel it.

Otherwise, you might have subscribed with one of our payment partners (such as iTunes, or your broadband or mobile provider). In this case, you need to contact that company to cancel.

Spotify is not able to help you cancel your subscription if you’re subscribed through another company (e.g. your broadband/mobile provider, or with iTunes), since they manage your subscription and payments. Please contact the provider.

If you’re unsure about who manages your subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account page.
  2. Click Subscription in the menu on the left. There you can see who manages your subscription.
  3. Contact that company to change any billing details or cancel.

Didn’t work?

If you receive a charge after cancelling, here are a few possible reasons why:

  • If you cancel around your usual billing date, it’s possible your next payment was already processed. You shouldn’t receive any further charges.
    Tip: Check your subscription status to check that the cancelation was successful and when your Premium will expire.
  • You may have another account that's active on Premium. This guide will help you find and cancel it.
  • If you subscribed through any other company than Spotify (for example your mobile or broadband company), you need to contact that company for help.
