Your Spotify username and display name

Your username

Your username is designed to identify you on Spotify, and you don’t need it to log in.

Instead, use your email address and password, or log in with the method you used to sign up (ex. Apple or your phone number).

Your display name

A display name replaces the username where it shows on your profile, app, and playlists.

Note: You can’t use your display name to log in.

Change your display name

• Mobile and tablet

  1. Tap your profile picture at the top.
  2. Tap View profile.
  3. Tap EDIT.
  4. Tap your display name to change it.
     Tip: You can also add or change your profile picture here.
  5. Tap Save.

• Desktop

  1. Click your profile picture at the top, and select Profile.
  2. Click on your profile name and edit the details.
  3. Click SAVE.

Note: You can also connect to Facebook to display your Facebook name. If you add a Spotify display name, that will show instead of your Facebook name.
