Transitions between tracks

Want to remove silence between tracks? Check out the features below.

Note: You can’t set these features when using Spotify Connect.

Crossfade

For: Premium

Overlaps 2 tracks by fading out of the first while fading in the next.

• Mobile and tablet

  1. Tap your profile picture at the top.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy .
  3. Tap Playback.
  4. Under Crossfade, drag the slider to select the crossfade length.

• Desktop

  1. Click your profile picture at the top, and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Playback.
  3. Switch Crossfade songs on .
  4. Move the slider to select the crossfade length.

Automix

For: Premium

Allows beat-matched seamless transitions between songs on select Spotify playlists. Works even on Shuffle.

• Mobile and tablet

  1. Tap your profile picture at the top.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy .
  3. Tap Playback.
  4. Under Track transitions, switch Automix on , or off .

• Desktop

  1. Click your profile picture at the top, and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to Playback.
  3. Switch Automix on , or off .

Gapless playback

Removes any gaps or pauses that may occur in between tracks.

• Mobile and tablet

  1. Tap your profile picture at the top.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy .
  3. Tap Playback.
  4. Under Track transitions, switch Gapless playback on , or off .
