Introducing Spotify Messages

You can now share and chat about songs, audiobooks, podcasts, playlists, and more directly with friends and family – directly in the Spotify app. Now, you can share and talk about what you’re listening to, right where you’re already listening.

  • Sharing content with friends has never been easier, simply:

    1. Tap on the share icon.
    2. Select a user from your suggested or simply send your friend an invite link.
      • If you have shared content with a user for the first time, they will be sent a message request. They can accept the request, block the sender or delete it.

Note: Once a direct message has been created, you can send each other Spotify content including free non-encrypted text messages and reactions.

You can also start a new chat by:

    1. Tapping on your profile image in the top corner of Spotify’s Home screen.
    2. Scroll to the Messages section,
