Family plan
We're introducing a new Family plan in your market, that allows up to 4 family members to join, including the plan manager. You can also purchase up to 2 additional accounts if you need more accounts in your plan.
Note: If you signed up for Premium Family before August 4th, 2025, your current 6-member Family plan will remain unchanged.
- The plan manager is the only person who signs up and pays for the plan
- The plan manager can add or remove members on the plan, and can’t join other plans
- All plan members have separate accounts, and log in with their own details
- The plan manager can manage the playback of content for members. Note: Check out our support articles 'Explicit content settings' and 'Video settings' for more info.
- The plan manager can buy up to 2 additional accounts 14.00 RON each.
Manage Premium Family
Note: Plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months.
- Go to your account page.
- Under Your plan, select your current plan.
- Select Change plan (if you're on Premium), or Join Premium (if you're on free).
- Scroll down and select Premium Family.
- Enter your address and choose your preferred payment method.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: If you already have Premium with a partner company (ex. your phone or internet provider), you first need to cancel with them and wait for your current Premium to end.
The plan manager can add or remove members on their account page.

If you want to downgrade, you need to switch to a new plan. Check out the article 'How to change Premium plans'. Note: Removing plan members won’t downgrade your plan.
Note: You can only buy additional accounts if you already have 4 members in your plan, and signed up with a recurring payment method.
On Android
- Swipe left or tap your profile picture.
- Select
Settings and privacy.
- Tap Account, then select your Family plan.
- Under Plan members, tap Buy additional accounts.
- Select the number of additional accounts, and tap Continue.
- Select Update subscription.
- Choose your preferred payment method, and tap Complete purchase.
On web
- Go to your account page.
- Under Manage your plan, click or tap Buy additional accounts.
- Select the number of additional accounts, and click or tap Continue.
- Select Change plan.
- Choose your preferred payment method, and click or tap Complete purchase.
Note: In-app purchases aren't available on iOS due to Apple's IAP restrictions. We recommend visiting the web to purchase additional accounts.
Join or leave a Family plan
Note: Plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months.
You need to be logged into your own Spotify account and have received an email to join.
- You need to be living with the Family manager
- Enter the same home address as the plan manager upon joining the plan
On desktop
- Open the invite link.
- Click Accept invite.
- Select Yes, continue to confirm you’re accepting the invite with the right Spotify account, or select Change account to choose a different one.
- Enter the address for your plan, and Confirm.

- Select Cancel plan under Available Plans.
- Choose Yes, cancel.
