Paying for Spotify with UPI

You can pay for Spotify Premium with UPI.

At checkout, choose one of the three methods below.

• Select your UPI app

  UPI Intent lets you pay using a UPI app installed on your phone. Spotify detects your installed UPI apps and shows them as payment options.

  1. At checkout, select UPI (Select your UPI app).
  2. Choose a UPI app from the list.
  3. Tap the app you want to pay with. You'll be taken directly to that app to authorise the payment. Note: If your preferred UPI app isn’t listed, tap Other (Android) to check all UPI apps installed on your phone.
  4. In your UPI app, check the payment details and enter your UPI PIN to authorize the payment.

  Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to Spotify and your Premium plan will be activated instantly.

  Note: Authorize the payment request as soon as possible. UPI payment requests expire after a few minutes. If your payment is successful in your UPI app but your Premium plan doesn’t activate, wait 24-48 hours. This is usually a processing delay from your bank. If your plan doesn’t activate, any charged amount is automatically refunded.

  
  

• Enter your UPI ID

  For: iOS

  UPI Collect lets you pay by entering your UPI ID (also called a VPA ID). After you verify it, you receive a payment request in your UPI app to authorize.

  1. At checkout, select UPI (Enter your UPI ID).
  2. Enter your UPI ID, then tap Verify.
  3. Open your UPI app and approve the payment request. Note: It may arrive as a push notification or an SMS link.
  4. Tap the notification or link and check the payment details.
  5. Enter your UPI PIN to authorize the payment.

  Once authorised, your Premium plan will be activated instantly.

  Finding your UPI ID

  You can find your UPI ID in your UPI app's profile or settings. The steps can differ depending on the app.

  PhonePe

  1. Open PhonePe.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Scroll down to UPI settings to find your UPI ID.

  Google Pay

  1. Open Google Pay.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Your UPI ID appears below your name and phone number.

  Paytm

  1. Open Paytm.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Your UPI ID appears below your name.

  Bhim

  1. Open Bhim.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Your UPI ID appears below the QR code.

• UPI QR (for desktop)

  UPI QR lets you pay by scanning a QR code with any UPI app. This is useful if you’re subscribing on a desktop browser.

  1. At checkout, select UPI (QR code).
  2. Scan the QR code using any UPI app on your phone.
  3. Check the payment details, then enter your UPI PIN to authorize the payment.
  4. After you authorize the payment, your Premium plan activates instantly.

  Note: Complete the payment before the timer expires. The QR code is only valid for a few minutes.

Making your UPI payment work

Before you pay, make sure:

• You enter the correct UPI ID
• Your bank account is linked to your UPI app
• Your UPI provider supports recurring payments through UPI Autopay
• You authorize the payment request in your UPI app

Still not working?

Try these steps:

• Try a different UPI app or another payment method
• Contact your bank or UPI provider if the payment is declined
• If your payment is successful but your Premium plan doesn’t activate, wait 24-48 hours. This is usually a processing delay from your bank. If your plan doesn’t activate, any charged amount is automatically refunded.
• If your Premium plan still isn’t activated after 48 hours, contact us with your transaction reference number.
