Updating your Spotify app

Spotify gets better with every update.

Pick your device for how to keep up-to-date.

• iOS

  Switch on automatic updates

  1. Go to your device's Settings.
  2. Tap iTunes & App Store.
  3. Switch App Updates on.

  Update manually

  1. Open the App Store.
  2. Tap your Apple ID image at the top.
  3. Find Spotify, and tap UPDATE.

  Tip: If Spotify isn’t listed, your app is on the latest version.

• Android

  Switch on automatic updates

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Search Spotify.
  3. Tap the three dots at the top.
  4. Check Enable auto-update.

  Tip: If there’s no option to update, your app is on the latest version.

  Update manually

  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Use the search bar to find Spotify.
  3. Tap UPDATE.

  Tip: If no update option is visible, your app is on the latest version.

• Desktop

  When an update is available, a blue dot appears next to your profile picture at the top.

  1. Click your profile picture.
  2. Select Update Spotify now.

  Reinstalling the app also guarantees the latest version of Spotify.
