Audiobooks+
For: Premium Individual, Family, and Duo
Audiobooks+ is a recurring subscription that adds audiobook listening time from our audiobooks subscriber catalog to your plan each month.
If your plan already includes monthly audiobook listening time, Audiobooks+ adds more on top.
Pricing and number of listening hours included varies per country.
How to subscribe to Audiobooks+
You can subscribe to Audiobooks+ with a credit/debit card, PayPal, or Google Play Billing.
Your plan affects how you subscribe, but the audiobook experience works the same way.
Audiobooks+ is available to you as a recurring add-on subscription, on top of your Premium plan. This moves your billing date forward, and your subscription cost will be adjusted proportionally.
Audiobooks+
Audiobooks+ hours are applied only to your account and aren't shared with plan members.
- Go to Available subscriptions.
- Select the Add-ons tab.
- Find Audiobooks+. You’ll see the included hours and pricing.
- Select Add to subscription and follow the steps to complete the purchase.
Audiobooks+ for Plan Members
Family or Duo plan managers can also purchase Audiobooks+ add-ons for their plan members.
- Go to Available subscriptions.

- Find Audiobooks+ for Plan Members. You’ll see the included hours and pricing.
- Select Add to subscription.
- Choose the member(s) you want to give the add-on to, and follow the steps to complete the purchase.
Note: If you pay with Google Play Billing, you can purchase Audiobooks+ for only one of your plan members.
You can't subscribe to Audiobooks+ yourself, but you can request it from your plan manager.
- Go to Available subscriptions.
- Select the Add-ons tab.
- Under Audiobooks+ for Plan Members, select Request to notify your plan manager.
Once your plan manager approves, Audiobooks+ for Plan Members is added to their subscription and billed alongside their Premium plan.
How audiobook listening time works
We count audiobook listening time based on each playback at normal speed, so adjusting the speed of playback won't affect the amount of time deducted.
If you relisten to a book (or part of a book), your listening time continues to reduce as normal.
For more info about your Audiobooks+ listening time, see our FAQ below.
Note: There might be some delays in tracking the audiobook listening time you’ve used if you pause your listening mid-chapter, or you’re offline for an extended period of time.
Mobile
- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap Settings and privacy.
- Go to Account and tap the name of your plan. This shows you the plan overview.
- Tap Audiobook listening time.
Web
Go to Audiobook listening time.
Yes. Any unused listening time from Audiobooks+ expires at the start of your next billing period, when your hours are renewed. We don't offer refunds for unused or expired listening time.
Need more hours before your next renewal? You can purchase a one-time top-up through Purchasing audiobook listening time.
If your plan includes audiobook listening time, your plan's audiobook listening hours are used first. Once those run out, your Audiobooks+ hours will start being deducted.
Note: Not all Spotify plans include audiobook listening time. If your plan doesn't include it, your Audiobooks+ add-on hours are used from the start.
Canceling Audiobooks+
You can cancel Audiobooks+ at any time.
After you cancel, you can continue using your remaining Audiobooks+ listening time until the end of your current billing period.
- Go to Plans and add-ons.
- Go to the Add-ons tab.
- Select Audiobooks+.
- Select Remove.
You'll lose the add-on listening hours, but keep any other listening time you have.
Only the plan manager can cancel Audiobooks+ for plan members.
On the plan manager’s account:
- Go to Plans and add-ons.
- Go to the Add-ons tab.
- Select Audiobooks+ Add-on for Plan Members.
