Episode analytics

Episode analytics help you understand how a specific episode performs on Spotify and other platforms.

To view episode-level analytics:

  1. Log in to creators.spotify.com
  2. Go to Episodes and select an episode.
  3. Select the Analytics tab.

You have the option to export each section of data as CSV files.

Overview

The Overview tab brings together key performance, engagement, audience, and discovery metrics for your episode.

You’ll also be able to see data for your episode with specific time windows in mind. This means you could evaluate episode performance based on the time that has elapsed since first publish or you could evaluate the first 7 days/last 7 days to measure analytics in different ways.

Episode benchmarks

Some metrics include benchmarks, such as “Above normal range.” Benchmarks compare the selected episode with your most recently published episodes for the chosen metric.

  • Normal Range: A range centered on median episode performance. Episodes in this range are performing as expected for your show.
  • Performance: How your selected episode performs compared to your other episodes. The percentage above or below normal is measured from the middle of the normal range, which is your median episode performance.

You’ll need to have at least 10 episodes published in order to have benchmarks appear on your episodes. Benchmarks compare the latest values for a given metric against the median across recent episodes of your show.

Keep in mind that benchmarks:

  • Update throughout the day as consumption data increases or changes, so values may shift as the day progresses.
  • Don’t display on the day an episode is published. They appear only after the first full day of data has been collected.
  • Measure your episodes’ performances for up to 30 days after publishing.

Video-specific analytics

If your episode is a video episode, you’ll have access to video-specific analytics.

Read more about video analytics here.

Audience

Audience analytics will show you the overall breakdown of your audience across fan demographics, like gender, age, and geographic location. These metrics come directly from Spotify.

Discovery

Impressions and sharing analytics are what you’ll find in Discovery analytics. You’ll find the specific impressions your episode has accumulated over time, alongside where on Spotify it was discovered.

You’ll also receive episode-specific stats around average completion rate and conversion rate.

If you’ve used links from Spotify for Creators to share your episode to your audience on other platforms, you’ll find the stats for those links specific to your episode under the Sharing section.

Data refresh

Most analytics update every 15 minutes, but some metrics may take up to 48 hours to refresh in Spotify for Creators.

See the analytics glossary for analytics definitions and refresh rates.
