Understanding the audience journey

The audience journey visualization shows how people interact with your show after seeing it on Spotify.

  • Impressions: The number of times your show’s content was shown to a user on a Spotify discovery surface during the selected time period. When someone sees your show, episode, or clips on Spotify, it counts as an impression.
  • Conversion rate: The percentage of impressions that led to plays on Spotify.
  • Plays: The total number of plays of your show during the selected time period.
  • Average completion rate: The percentage of your audience that made it at least 95% of the way through an episode that was published in the selected time period.

The Where on Spotify your content was discovered section shows where those impressions came from.

Interpreting impressions data

Impressions typically rise and fall with episode release schedules. If your show’s impressions are high compared to its plays, this could mean many Spotify users are seeing your show, but they aren’t clicking through to it.

Try viewing your total impressions over time to identify performance trends. You can view both your show and a specific episode’s Discovery analytics. For episodes, it's often best to wait a week after your publish date to understand the total amount of impressions it gathered.

Take a look at the Where on Spotify your content was discovered graph to understand exactly where on Spotify your show appears the most. Consistently checking this graph and seeing how it changes from episode to episode can be insightful.

Understanding sharing analytics

The Sharing section shows how people interact with links you’ve shared using Spotify for Creators.

You’ll see analytics for:

  • Clicks: The number of times your shared links were clicked during the selected time period.
  • Plays: The plays you received on Spotify during the selected time period.
  • Conversion rate: The percentage of clicks that led to plays on Spotify during the selected time period.

To create a new share link for your show:

  1. Log in to creators.spotify.com
  2. Select the specific episode you’d like to share.
  3. Click Share a link and select either the default link to share or create your own link by clicking New link.
  4. Use this specific link when sharing your episode to your audience.

Data refresh

Most analytics update every 15 minutes, but some metrics may take up to 48 hours to refresh in Spotify for Creators.
