Create and edit playlists

Make a playlist for your pet, a road trip, a gym session… Anything!

Pick your device for how to create, edit, and delete playlists.

• Mobile and tablet

  Make a playlist

  1. Tap Create .
  2. Select Playlist.
  3. Name your playlist, and tap Create.
  4. Tap Add to this playlist, or choose from our recommendations.

  Note: You can choose to hide Create from your menu bar. For more info, check out How to hide and display the Create button.

  Add to a playlist

  On the playlist, tap Add.

  Or, add to it later:

  1. Tap  (iOS) /  (Android) on what you want to add.
  2. Tap Add to Playlist.
  3. Select a playlist.
  4. Tap Done.

  Edit a playlist

  On the playlist, tap Edit:

  • Tap to remove tracks
  • Tap, hold, and drag to reorder tracks (Premium only)

  Delete a playlist

  1. Tap  (iOS)  (Android) on the playlist.
  2. Tap Delete Playlist.

• Desktop

  Make a playlist

  1. Go to Your Library .
  2. Click Create at the top.
  3. Select Playlist.
  4. Edit the name and other details.
  5. Click SAVE.

  Tip: You can also use your keyboard’s shortcuts. Cmd-N (for Mac) or Ctrl-N (for Windows).

  Add to a playlist

  1. Right-click what you want to add, or click next to it.
  2. Click Add to Playlist.
  3. Select a playlist.

  You can also drag and drop tracks into a playlist.

  Edit a playlist

  To remove a song:

  1. Right-click what you want to remove, or click next to it.
  2. Select Remove from this Playlist.

  To reorder songs, simply drag and drop them to the position you want.

  Delete a playlist

  1. Right-click the playlist or click inside the playlist.
  2. Click Delete.

Need some inspiration?

Get Recommended Songs at the bottom of each playlist you create. It suggests songs based on what you’ve already added and the playlist’s title. Just tap on anything you want to save.
