Offline Backup will appear on the Spotify Home screen in Android Auto and Apple CarPlay when your device is offline. If you have saved Offline Backup to your Library, you can find Offline Backup when you are online in the Playlists and Downloaded folders.

    Sorting and filtering

Sorting & filtering is not accessible on your car display when listening to Offline Backup. The sort order you have on your mobile device will be the order that songs are played.

Any filter applied within the mobile app will also be used when playing music through Android Auto. Filtering is not possible when playing through Apple CarPlay.

  • To use Offline Backup, you must enable Offline listening and have songs stored in your device’s cache.

If you do can't find Offline Backup, ensure Offline listening is enabled under Settings and Privacy, then use Spotify as usual and listen for a while.

If Offline Backup is still not visible, it may be due to the following reasons:

    • You haven't played enough songs recently
    • Your device is out of storage and doesn’t have enough storage space left
    • You’ve cleared your cache content
    • You’ve reinstalled the Spotify app
