Changing how you log into Spotify
Changes to your login method
After September 1, 2026, you'll be able to log into Spotify with your email address, not your username.
Your music, playlists, and everything else stays the same.
Note: Action is only needed if you're currently logging in with your username. If you already log in with an email address, or use another login method, like Facebook, Google, or Apple, no action is needed.
Checking your email address
Make sure your email address is correct before the deadline. You can do this on your account page.
- Log in to your Account page.
- Under Account, select Edit personal info.
- Check that your email address is correct.
- If you need to update it, make the change and select Save profile.
If you don't have an email on your account
If your account doesn't have an email address, you can add one on the Login methods page.
- Go to Edit login methods.
- Select Add next to the method you want to enable.
Note: If you see a Login button next to Available login methods, select it and log in to start making changes. - Confirm the login details. Once successful, the new method is added to Current login methods.
