Understanding audiobook creation limits

Each Spotify for Authors account can create up to 5 audiobooks from text.

Each project counts as 1 slot, including:

• Published audiobooks
• Draft projects

Once a slot is used, it’s permanent. Deleting a draft or unpublishing an audiobook doesn’t free up a slot.

If you reach your limit, you’ll see a notification when you try to create another audiobook project.

Generations per book

Each audiobook project allows up to 4 generations.

A generation is used any time your audiobook is generated or regenerated, including during editing and after publishing.

Plan your pronunciation and voice settings before generating to make the most of each generation.

Manuscript word limit

Manuscripts must be 150,000 words or fewer.

If your manuscript exceeds this limit, you’ll need to shorten it before uploading.
