Evolving how you create on Spotify for Creators
As of July 9, some creation tools are no longer available on Spotify for Creators web or mobile app. These include:
- Record with Friends (mobile and web)
- Music + Talk (mobile and web)
- Voice Messages (mobile and web)
- The episode builder experiences on mobile and web, which includes:
- Recording and editing tools
- Ad segments (Note: Ad segments can still be added to episodes using the waveform ad insertion tool.)
- Background music
- Library (Note: The Library has moved to Settings to give you access to all the audio files you created or uploaded.)
- Sounds
Read our blog post for more info about these changes
You can continue to upload completed audio and video shows to Spotify for Creators for distribution, management, and monetization. All of your existing published episodes remain published and unchanged.
If you need tools to continue creating episodes, check out our integration with Riverside, which offers more tools to record and edit audio and video shows.
Downloading your existing recordings
We recommend downloading any episode segments you’d like for your own safekeeping, as well as any recurring content (like intros or outros) from your Library.
To get to your library:
- Log in to Spotify for Creators on web
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down to More actions.
- Click Go to my recordings.
All of your existing published and scheduled episodes remain unchanged.
You can continue to update things like episode titles, descriptions, and images, and you can also unpublish and delete episodes.
However, you can no longer edit audio or video using Spotify for Creators. We recommend downloading episodes and using another tool to edit audio or video such as our integration with Riverside on Spotify for Creators web.
Music + Talk episodes published before July 9, 2024 were approved and published, so long as they met our content guidelines.
Published episodes remain live on Spotify, but Music + Talk tools are no longer available for use for new episodes.
You can unpublish and delete Music + Talk episodes, but you can't edit them any more.
Yes, you can continue to upload completed audio and video shows to Spotify for Creators for distribution, management, and monetization.
Spotify for Creators is a great way to host and distribute your show to Spotify and other platforms, learn about and interact with your audience, and monetize your show - all for free. In addition, you can now record and edit audio and video on Spotify for Creators web via our integration with Riverside.
