Uploading cover art
Choosing the right cover art is an important part of making a show. Effective cover art can attract new listeners by grabbing their attention visually, and can also give a good sense of what your show is about before they even start to listen.
If you host your show with Spotify, you can add cover art in your settings:
On web:
- Go to Settings
- Click Update show art then Upload an image.
On the mobile app:
- Tap Podcast then Edit Details.
- Tap your show’s cover art.
- Select an image from your device.
- Once uploaded, hit Save.
Changes to your cover art typically reflect within 24 hours.
If you don't host with Spotify, check with your host about how to add cover art.
Episode cover art
By default, your episodes use the same cover art as your show, but you can upload custom artwork to each episode if you like.
Not all platforms display individual episode artwork; some always use your show's main artwork.
Note: You can only update episode cover art on Spotify for Creators web.
On web:
- Go to Episodes and select the episode you want to add cover art to.
- Click Details.
- Click your current cover art, then Update.
- Choose the file you'd like to use from your device, then click Save.
Note: Once you’ve added custom artwork to an episode, you can't remove it completely. To revert to your show's main artwork, you’ll need to add the main artwork to your episode.
