Search autocomplete
Search autocomplete makes it faster and simpler to find relevant content on Spotify. After only typing a few letters into the search bar, it provides you with suggestions sourced from popular search terms, your past search history or recognized names of artists, songs or podcasts, reducing the number of steps it takes for you to start listening.
Restrictions on autocomplete
To make autocomplete suggestions as safe and useful as possible, we may prevent suggestions from appearing when they:
- Do not comply with our Platform Rules
- Contain sensitive or derogatory claims about individuals
- Relate to topics and events that may be at heightened risk of abuse
- May be interpreted as endorsing or opposing a political figure, party, or elections outcome
- Include severe or gratuitous profanity
The above list is not exhaustive and we may take additional actions if some autocomplete suggestions are found to negatively impact the user experience. We use a combination of technology and human review to enforce these restrictions.
How can I report an autocomplete suggestion?
If you would like to report an autocomplete suggestion, you can contact us. Suggestions reported will be reviewed according to the policies above.
