AI credits on Spotify
AI credits show when a specific part of a track is generated with AI. They apply to individual roles, not the whole track.
For example, you can mark AI use in lyrics, vocals, or production.
Where AI credits appear
AI credits are currently in beta and only visible to listeners on mobile.
Listeners can find them in:
- Song credits
- Now Playing view
They don’t appear on artist profiles or as track-level labels.
Adding AI credits
You add AI credits through your distributor when you upload your music.
This feature is in beta and only available with certain distributors. If your distributor supports AI credits, you can:
- Mark specific roles as AI-generated
- Submit this information with your release
For more information, reach out to your distributor.
Disclosing AI-generated contributions
Share when a specific part of your track is generated using AI.
Common examples include:
- Lyrics
- Vocals
- Instrumental performances
- Production
If both AI and human contributions exist for the same role, credit them separately.
AI credits are optional but Spotify will continue to evolve this approach over time based on feedback and the changing landscape.
