Family plan

This plan is no longer available to sign up for. If you have one of these plans, you can still manage the members of your existing plan. Depending on your sign-up date your Family Plan may differ:

Depending on your sign-up date your Family Plan may differ:

  • If you signed up for Premium Family before November 12, 2024, your current 6-member Family plan will remain unchanged.
  • If you signed up to the flexible 4-member Family plan between November 12, 2024 and October 20, 2025, you will be able to add or remove additional members until November 19, 2025. After November 19, your then-current plan size will be frozen.
  • If you signed up after October 20, 2025, your current 4-member Family plan will remain unchanged.

The plan manager is the person who signs up and pays for the plan, and manages the other members on the plan:

  • All plan members have separate accounts, and log in with their own details
  • The plan manager can manage the playback of content for members. Note: Check out our support articles 'Explicit content settings' and 'Video settings' for more info.
  • The plan manager can buy up to 2 additional accounts at IDR 29,900 each.

Manage Premium Family

Note: Plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months.

    1. Go to your account page.
    2. Under Your plan, select your current plan.
    3. Select Change plan (if you're on Premium), or Join Premium (if you're on free).
    4. Scroll down and select Premium Family.
    5. Enter your address and choose your preferred payment method.
    6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

    Note: If you already have Premium with a partner company (ex. your phone or internet provider), you first need to cancel with them and wait for your current Premium to end.

  • The plan manager can add or remove members on their account page.

    If you want to downgrade, you need to switch to a new plan. Check out the article 'How to change Premium plans'. Note: Removing plan members won’t downgrade your plan.

Join or leave a Family plan

Note: Plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months.

You need to be logged into your own Spotify account and have received an email to join.

  • You need to be living with the Family manager
  • Enter the same home address as the plan manager upon joining the plan
  • On desktop

    1. Open the invite link.
    2. Click Accept invite.
    3. Select Yes, continue to confirm you’re accepting the invite with the right Spotify account, or select Change account to choose a different one.
    4. Enter the address for your plan, and Confirm.

  • On desktop

    1. Go to your account page.
    2. Under Your plan, select Change plan.
    3. Select Cancel plan under Available Plans.
    4. Choose Yes, cancel.

    Note: Plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months.
