Uploading audiobooks to Spotify for Authors

- Log in to authors.spotify.com
- Click + Upload audiobook.
- Enter your audiobook’s details, audio files, and metadata.
Note: You need to complete your payment profile before you can publish any audiobooks. Learn more
Tips and specs
- Use MP3, WAV, or FLAC for audio files
- Use PNG or JPEG for cover art in a 1:1 aspect ratio (recommended size: 3000 × 3000 px)
- Add a sample file to let listeners preview your audiobook
- Title your chapters clearly so listeners can navigate your audiobook easily

Cost and licensing/ownership
- It’s free to upload your audiobooks through Spotify for Authors
- There’s no limit to how many audiobooks you can upload
- It’s non-exclusive: you’re free to distribute your audiobooks to other platforms
- You retain full ownership of your audiobook and its rights
Publishing issues
When you publish an audiobook it goes through a few steps:
- It briefly appears in Drafts as a submitted title.
Note: If it's marked as Incomplete, look for missing artwork or audio files. - After 24 hours, your title temporarily disappears while we fully ingest it.
- Within 72 hours your title will become available to listeners on Spotify, and will re-appear in Spotify for Authors.
Audiobooks are only available to Spotify listeners in these countries. If you’re located outside these regions, you won’t be able to listen to your audiobook on Spotify.
