Listen offline

For: Premium subscribers

Take your music everywhere you go. With Spotify Premium, you can download music to the app so it’s available to play even without an internet connection. 

You can have up to 3,333 songs available for offline listening, on a maximum of 3 different devices.
 
Note: You do need to go onto the internet at least once every 30 days to maintain your offline music settings.

Desktop

  1. Click on the playlist you want to make available offline.
  2. Toggle Download to green at the top of the playlist. While tracks are downloading, a circling arrow symbol will display next to them. 
    Note: You can only download playlists that you follow, or have created yourself.   
  3. You can see download progress in the left-hand column. The circling arrow symbol () will also display next to playlist titles.
  4. The green arrow () means it’s finished downloading.
  5. To start listening to your music without the internet, select Offline Mode in the menu bar at the top. 

Note: You’ll automatically enter Offline Mode any time you lose your internet connection.

iPhone

Note: By default, downloading over your mobile data connection is disabled. Tap Download using cellular in your Settings () to enable it. We recommend downloading over a WiFi network to avoid mobile data charges.

You can save playlists, artists, albums, songs, and podcasts saved in Your Library.

  1. When connected to WiFi, go to Songs if you want all songs available for offline; or the playlistartist, or album you’d like to make available for offline.
  2. At the top of the screen, toggle Download to green.
  3. Download progress will be displayed at the top of Your Library.
  4. You’ll see a green arrow () next to playlists and tracks when they’ve finished downloading.

To start listening to your music without the internet:

  1. Tap Your Library in the menu at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Select Settings ().
  3. Select Playback.
  4. Toggle Offline Mode to green.

iPad
