Recording and editing an episode
If you’re ready to start your show, here are some easy ways to record and edit your episodes.
Recording
Record yourself or with others with the apps already on your devices
You can use the voice recorder built into your phone, tablet, or computer as a low-maintenance way to get started.
Open the voice recorder app, hit record, and save the file when you're done.
Record with other people remotely
There are several options for recording a show remotely such as:
Through our integration with Riverside you can record and edit audio and video without leaving Spotify for Creators. You can use your web browser or mobile device to make multi-track recordings with multiple participants - wherever they are in the world - and import the finished episode directly to Spotify for Creators.

Editing
Trim a recording
You can use your device’s voice recorder software to make simple edits to your recording, like trimming the beginning and end to get rid of dead space.
For more info on how to edit recordings on your mobile device’s default apps, check out detailed articles for iOS and Android.
Combine multiple recordings, make edits to your speech, or add background music
If you need more advanced editing features to bring different files together (e.g., listener voice notes, multiple recordings), there are a variety of tools such as:
Some of these tools allow you to record directly from any microphone (including the one built into your device), or you can import recordings made with other devices or services. Either way, these apps allow you to edit, layer, and even add advanced effects to your content.
If you’re looking for video editing apps you can consider:
Although these tools are known for video, you can use them to edit your show and export to common audio formats too.
Edit using a text transcript and AI tools
With options like Riverside and Descript you can access transcript-based editing systems, letting you delete and move parts of your audio just like editing a text document.
You can also import other elements like background music or custom intros to integrate them right into your edit.
