Creating a trailer

A trailer is a preview of your podcast designed to attract new listeners and grow your show’s audience.

Creating a trailer increases the discoverability of your podcast and gives you the opportunity to gain new listeners by giving them an exciting preview of what your show's all about.

Your podcast trailer appears at the top of the episode list in the Spotify mobile app.

Podcasts hosted with Spotify

On web:

1. Click New Episode then Select File.
2. Find the audio or video file you'd like to use as your trailer then click Next.
3. On the Details page, give your trailer a title, description, and publish date then click Next.
4. Find Additional details and choose Trailer under Episode type.
5. Add Interaction features, click Next.
6. Review your trailer details and then click Schedule or Publish.

On the mobile app:

1. Tap Podcast at the bottom of the screen, then hit the + icon and Select a file to upload.
2. Choose the audio file you'd like to use as your trailer from your device.
   Note: You can only upload video files on web.
3. On the next screen, give your trailer title and description.
4. Under additional details, tap Episode type and select Trailer.
5. Tap Publish or Schedule to give your trailer a publish date.
6. Hit Save.
   

Podcasts hosted somewhere else

On web:

1. Log into Spotify for Podcasters.
2. Head to Settings.
3. Click Select your trailer.
4. Pick an episode, then click Set Trailer.
   Tip: We show you short episodes that'd be suited to being trailers. To select a longer episode, go to ALL EPISODES.
