Tips for creating unique links
- Create multiple unique links per show or episode to compare their performance across your different social media platforms.
- Give each link a unique name so you identify where you shared the link, e.g. “Instagram link - MMDDYY”. The name is only visible to you.
- We can only show you data for links copied from Spotify for Creators. If you share a link to your show or episode from the Spotify app, we can’t track clicks.
Viewing referral data

- Or go to Episodes, select an episode, go to Discovery, and look for the Sharing section.
Note: It’s not possible to view sharing data on the Spotify for Creators mobile app.
We show data on the number of:
- Total clicks of your link
- Spotify users who clicked your link
- Spotify users who started your show
- Spotify users who streamed your show
- Streams attributed to link clicks
This data updates daily.
We count a start every time someone streams your show for 0 seconds or more on Spotify.
We count a stream every time someone streams your show for 60 seconds or more on Spotify.
Note: We only attribute a start or stream to a link if it happened within 7 days of the click.
Limitations
Unique link clicks are supported by the Spotify desktop and mobile apps.
In some cases we can’t track a click or subsequent play, e.g. if someone copies and pastes a link rather than clicking it.
