Switching your podcast's hosting to Spotify for Podcasters

You can easily migrate your podcast's hosting to Spotify for Podcasters without losing your existing episodes or profiles on other platforms in two steps:

  1. Import your episodes to Spotify for Podcasters. It only takes a second to import your episodes - no manual upload needed.
  2. Redirect your old feed. To keep your listeners subscribed to your show and ensure they continue to get your new episodes.

Importing your episodes

  1. Visit our Switch page.
  2. Paste in your RSS feed or search for your podcast name.
  3. Sign up for a Spotify for Podcasters account after you’ve selected your podcast, or import your podcast into an existing Spotify for Podcasters account if you've already made one.

Note: Spotify for Podcasters officially supports imports from these hosts.

Redirecting your feed

Once you’ve completed the import step, you’ll need to redirect your RSS feed so it points to your new Spotify for Podcasters URL.

This is an important step before we’re able to distribute your podcast to other platforms. If you import your podcast but don't complete the redirect step, any new episodes you create won’t sync to your existing show.

You can redirect from most hosts by entering your new Spotify for Podcasters RSS feed somewhere in the account settings of your old host. You can find your Spotify for Podcasters RSS feed on your Podcast Availability settings. Some hosts may require you to reach out to their support team to set up a 301 redirect.

Here's how to redirect from the following hosts:

Note: You should only deactivate your account with your old host after you confirm that the redirect has worked.

If you uploaded video episodes through Spotify for Podcasters before moving your podcast's hosting, your video episodes will become audio-only episodes when you host with Spotify. You'll need to re-upload video episodes once you’ve redirected your feed.

Confirm the redirect is in place

To confirm that your redirect worked, go to your old RSS feed and copy and paste it into your browser. If it redirects to a Spotify for Podcasters link, you’re all set!

Confirm that all your episodes are appearing on your Spotify for Podcasters profile, and then you can go ahead and close your account with your old host.

Linking to your show on other platforms

Add links to your podcast's listing on other platforms on your Podcast Availability settings. This creates a badge on your public Spotify for Podcasters profile for listeners to see which apps you’re available on.

Migrating back to Spotify for Podcasters

If you originally hosted your podcast on Spotify for Podcasters (or Anchor), then moved to a different hosting platform, and are now migrating back to Spotify for Podcasters, you’ll need to create a new account on Spotify for Podcasters in order to switch.
