Viewing and understanding royalty payments in Spotify for Authors

To view your payment info and the account where you receive your royalties, go to Settings then Payment profile.

Types of royalties

There are two distinct types of royalties you’ll earn with your audiobooks on Spotify.

• À la carte audiobooks on Spotify: These royalties come from direct purchases of your audiobook by listeners on Spotify
• Audiobooks included in Spotify Premium plans: These royalties come from streams of your audiobook by Spotify Premium subscribers that have access to Audiobooks in their Premium plan

Your payout provider for royalties

If you’re located in the US, Spotify Payouts processes royalty payments for Spotify for Authors if you sign up after May 4th 2026. You’ll need to follow the steps here on how to set up Spotify Payouts.

If you’re located in the US and signed up for Spotify for Authors before May 4th, 2026, you’ll continue to use Tipalti. If you’re outside the US, Tipalti processes royalty payments for Spotify for Authors.

The provider you have may affect:

• The minimum amount you can receive
• Processing fees
• Exchange rate fees

We pay royalties in United States dollars (USD).

If you’re using Tipalti, you can choose to receive your payouts in Canadian dollars (CAD), which is subject to currency exchange fees.

Royalty payouts on Spotify Payouts

If you’re onboarded to Spotify Payouts, you’ll receive monthly payouts. Some months will include quarterly earnings.

Royalty payouts on Tipalti

If you’re onboarded to Tipalti, you'll receive monthly payouts. Some months will include quarterly earnings.

Downloading Spotify royalty reports

Download your Spotify royalty reports from Spotify for Authors.

2. Go to Reports then Royalty Reports.
