Getting started with Countdown Pages

Note: Countdown Pages are rolling out to to eligible artists over the next few weeks. We'll email you when you receive access.

A Countdown Page is a destination for fans to pre-save your upcoming album, preview the tracklist, watch Clips, purchase merch, and see the timer count down to the release moment – all in one place.

Once your new music drops, we send a push notification to all pre-savers and add it straight to their library. On average, nearly 70% of users who pre-save an album stream it during week one.

Eligibility

Artists with at least 5k active listeners in the 28 last days (based on 28-day streaming history) can create a Countdown Page for their upcoming album once it's been delivered to Spotify.

You can also if you're eligible for Countdown Pages via Spotify for Artists on web:

  1. Log into Spotify for Artists.
  2. Go to Audience tab Audience then Segments.
  3. Click Active audience to see how many active listeners you have.

Note: Countdown Pages are rolling out to to eligible artists over the next few weeks. If you have enough active listeners but don't have access to create a Countdown Page, check back soon.

Availability

Countdown Pages are available to listeners in the Spotify desktop and mobile apps in every market Spotify operates in.

Clips in Countdown Pages are viewable in the Spotify mobile app in 70+ markets.

Creating a Countdown Page

For: Admins and Editors

A Countdown Page is created using the album URI. In order to create a Countdown Page the licensor needs to deliver the finalized album product as per standard procedure via DDEX.

Once delivered it may take 72 hours before the album appears in Spotify for Artists.

Note: You won’t be able to use Countdown Pages for releases with split right releases or singles, but we hope to enable this in the near future.

On web:

  1. Log in to Spotify for Artists.
  2. Go to Music tab Music then Upcoming.
    Note:
Once your licensor has delivered release metadata via DDEX, you’ll see the option to create the Countdown Page.
  3. Select the release, and click Get started.
  4. Upload Clips and tag your merch.
  5. Review and publish.
Note: Your Countdown Page is only live on Spotify once you publish it.

You can create and edit a Countdown Page up until the release goes live.

Once published, fans can start pre-saving your release and watching your Clips via your artist profile, the Now Playing view, notifications, and more.
