Share music

Calling all tastemakers! We’ve made it easy for you to share songs, albums, artists, and playlists with your friends on Spotify:

  • Send to… Deliver music direct to a friend’s inbox.
  • Post to… Shout about it on Spotify and social media. 

Note: To share directly to a friend’s Spotify inbox, you first need to be following each other (unless you are both connected to, and are friends on, Facebook). Check out our guide here.

Pick your device below and start spreading the word!

Desktop

Mac 

  1. Right-click on something you'd like to share.
  2. Click Share... 
  3. Click SEND TO…
  4. If your account is connected to Facebook, you can search for and send to any of your Facebook friends by simply searching their name. 
    Note: They need to have their Spotify account connected to Facebook too.
  5. Alternatively, type in your friend’s Spotify username. 
    Note: You need to be following each other.
  6. Enter a message if you like.
  7. Click SEND.​

Or, you can click Share… > POST TO FOLLOWERS. This will give you the option to share to Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr. 

Windows 

  1. Right-click on something.
  2. Click Share...
  3. Click Send To…
  4. If your account is connected to Facebook, you can search for and send to any of your Facebook friends by simply searching their name. 
    Note: They need to have their Spotify account connected to Facebook too.
  5. Alternatively, type in your friend’s Spotify username.
    Note: You need to be following each other.
  6. Add a message if you’d like.
  7. Click SEND.

Or, you can click Share… > POST TO FOLLOWERS. This will give you the option to share to Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr. 

WebPlayer

  1.  Right-click on something you’d like to share.
  2. Click Share... 
  3. Click SEND TO…

iPhone

Note: To send something direct to someone’s Spotify inbox on mobile, you must each have your accounts connected to, and be friends on, Facebook. Here’s how.

  1. Tap  on the artist, album, or playlist page, or next to a track.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Tap Send to...
  4. Tap Select People.
    Note: You can also choose to share via email and text here. It’ll also detect and offer sharing options for any other integrated apps, such as Facebook messenger and WhatsApp. 
  5. Search or scroll down to the name of the person you’d like to send to and tap it.
  6. Enter a message if you like.
  7. Tap SEND.

Or, you can tap Share > Post To… This will give you the option to post to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or similar apps.

iPad

Note: To send something direct to someone’s Spotify inbox on mobile, you must each have your accounts connected to, and be friends on, Facebook. Here’s how.

  1. Tap  on the artist, album, or playlist page, or next to a track.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Tap Send to...
  4. Tap Select People.

Note: To send something direct to someone’s Spotify inbox on mobile, you must each have your accounts connected to, and be friends on, Facebook. Here’s how.

  1. Tap  on the artist, album, or playlist page, or next to a track. Or, you can just tap and hold an artist, album, playlist, or track until the options pop up.
  2. Tap Share.
  3. Tap Send to…
  4. Tap Select Recipient. You can also choose to share via email and text here. It’ll also detect and offer sharing options for any other integrated apps, such as Facebook messenger and WhatsApp.
  5. Type in the name of the recipient and a message if you’d like.
  6. Tap SEND.

Alternatively, you can tap Share > Post To… This will give you the option to post to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or similar apps.
