The Family Mix playlist combines music that all members of a Family plan listen to.
It comes preloaded with genres, artists, and songs you’ve each played on your own, and updates the more you play.
Note: Your profile picture shows next to songs generated by your listening. Only people in your plan can see this.

There are a few ways to find and play Family Mix:
- Find it in Home
under Made For You
- Search for Family Mix
- If you have a voice controlled speaker, ask to play Family Mix.
Note: If you’re new to Spotify, Family Mix needs to get to know you first. Find your songs in it after around 2 weeks of listening.

Tune the mix to the taste of particular Family members. Tap (Android) /
(iPhone) at the top of your mix, then tap Manage Users.
You can also tune it to your mood:

for an easy listening and laidback tempo. Tap again to return to the standard mix.

to increase the tempo of the mix. Tap again to return to the standard mix.
Download Family Mix
Family Mix updates regularly to stay fresh, so you can’t download it. But you can add all songs to a playlist, then download that playlist:
- At the top of the mix, tap
(Android) /
(iPhone).
- Tap Add to playlist.
- Tap NEW PLAYLIST and name it, or add songs to an existing playlist.
- Download that playlist.
Remove explicit songs
Note: This setting is only on mobile, but applies to all devices.
- At the top of the mix, tap
(Android) /
(iPhone).
- Tap Remove your explicit songs.
This only removes the explicit songs based on your music taste.
Your explicit songs are removed for other people on the plan when the mix next updates for them.
