Spotify Partner Program
The Spotify Partner Program monetization program is available to creators in select markets
You can earn from multiple revenue streams depending on the types of content you publish and who streams that content:
- Ad revenue
- Premium video revenue
To apply for the program, you need to meet our eligibility criteria.
Once you’ve applied, your show is reviewed against our Spotify Partner Program monetization policies.
Ad revenue
When you join the Spotify Partner Program, you earn a 50% share of the revenue recognized every time an ad monetized by Spotify (as part of the Spotify Partner Program) plays in your episodes — both on and off Spotify.
You can select where you want your ads to play by choosing your own ad breaks.
You need to insert at least one ad break into an episode in order to earn any ad revenue.
Learn more about inserting ad breaks
After your ad breaks are inserted, Spotify for Creators can deliver targeted ads in your episodes when they're streamed on Spotify or downloaded on another podcast listening platform.
You can also choose if you'd like to exclude any categories of ads.
Premium video revenue
When Spotify Premium members in select markets stream your video episodes, we make sure they have an uninterrupted viewing experience by serving your show to them without dynamic ads.
For those streams, instead of earning ad revenue, you can earn based on how much your fans stream your show.
Fans who aren't Spotify Premium members in these markets, or fans who stream any non-video episodes you publish on or off Spotify, can stream your episodes with ads, and you can continue to earn revenue for any ads that play in those episodes.
In order for a video episode to qualify for Premium video revenue, you need to insert oat least one ad break in the episode. You can’t earn Premium video revenue for any video episodes without ad breaks.
Premium video revenue is calculated in accordance with our proprietary payment formula, which may be adjusted by us from time to time, and which are based on a number of factors.
These factors may include the total amount of qualifying consumption time attributable to your eligible video episodes, the registration market of Spotify Premium users consuming your eligible video episodes, the unique number of Spotify Premium users with access to or consuming an uninterrupted video experience, and the overall amount of eligible video content consumed by Spotify Premium users in these markets.
Note: Premium video revenue will become available on January 2, 2025. Before that date all Spotify Partner Program creators can only earn ad revenue.
Premium Video Revenue markets
Premium video revenue is currently only available in these markets, which may change from time to time:
- Australia
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- United States

Pausing the Spotify Partner Program
To pause ads from playing in your show, go to your Monetize page and click Pause Spotify Partner Program under Spotify Partner Program.
This prevents ads from playing in your episodes that contain ad breaks. You'll also stop earning any Premium video revenue.

If you pause the Spotify Partner Program for over 6 consecutive months, you may not earn enough to remain eligible for the program and we may remove your show from the program.
