Reading, approving, and reacting to comments

Encourage your audience to leave comments on your episodes, and create meaningful relationships with your fans on Spotify by reacting and replying to your favorites.

Fans can leave, react, and reply to comments on the Spotify mobile app.

Reading comments

When your fans reply to comments, it creates a thread, which you can view on both the Spotify for Creators web and mobile apps. A purple dot indicates you have new comments to read.

You can see all live comments on your episode page in the Published tab.

We rank comments on your episode page based on a variety of factors like sentiment, recency, and the number of replies and reactions on the comment.

If you have the Spotify for Creators mobile app, we notify you when you receive a new comment. We also send a recap email every Thursday.

Approving comments

You’ve worked hard to build a community on Spotify so we’ve introduced settings to make it easier to manage and control what type of comments you want to appear on your page.

You can review any unpublished comments under Needs Review to make them visible on Spotify.

To approve comments, go to Needs Review.

  • Icon for approving to approve a comment
  • Icon for liking to react to a comment
  • Comments icon to leave a response

Comments you react or reply to are also approved and appear on your episode page in the Spotify mobile app.

Why you should engage with comments

Reacting and replying to comments helps build your fan community on Spotify and makes your audience feel heard. You can additionally leave a top-level comment on your episode for all of your listeners to see to help kickstart the conversation.

We notify fans when you react or reply to their comment.

We display your show art next to your comments when you use Spotify for Creators to reply, letting fans know you (or your team) responded. You can respond as many times as you want to your listeners.
