Pitching music and videos to Spotify playlist editors
For: Admins and Editors
Use Spotify for Artists to pitch upcoming, unreleased songs and eligible music videos to our playlist editors.
Song and video pitches are separate. If you're releasing a song and a video, pitch each one for maximum editorial consideration.
If you pitch an unreleased song at least 7 days before release, we'll add it to your followers' Release Radar playlists. If you're eligible, you can also pin it to your This Is playlist.
Pitching a song
- Log in at artists.spotify.com.
- Go to
Music then Upcoming.
- Choose a song and complete the pitch form.
More detail gives your song a better chance.

Pitching a video
Video pitching is gradually rolling out in Spotify for Artists. If you don't have access yet, check back soon.
You can pitch eligible music videos for consideration in editorial video playlists.
You can pitch a video if it's:
- An official music video or performance
- Delivered by your label or distributor, or uploaded directly through Spotify for Artists
- Unreleased, or released within the past 7 days
Other video types aren't eligible for pitching at this time. Learn more about Music Videos on Spotify.
To pitch a video:
- Log in at artists.spotify.com.
- Go to
Video & Visuals.
- Under Actions, click Pitch your videos.
Note: Pitch your videos only appears if you have an eligible video to pitch. - Click Get started, complete the pitch form, and submit.
Add details about your video's story, genre, mood, visual style, and marketing plans to help our editors understand your release.
Can't see your video? Make sure it's eligible and that you have the right access to pitch it:
- For videos delivered by a label or distributor: You need Admin or Editor access on the artist team, or a label team with rights to the release.
- For videos uploaded through Spotify for Artists: You need Admin or Editor access on the team that uploaded the video.
The 7-day eligibility window depends on how your video was added to Spotify:
- For label and distributor delivered videos: 7 days starts from the video's release date.
- For videos uploaded through Spotify for Artists: 7 days starts from the upload date.
Note: Uploading videos through Spotify for Artists is currently in beta. If you don't have access to video uploads yet, contact your label or licensor about delivering your videos. Learn more.
What to know about pitching
Songs
- Deliver your music at least 7 days before release so our editors have time to listen.
- You can't pitch compilations or songs you're a featured artist on.
- You can only pitch one song at a time. Once your pitched song goes live, you can pitch another.
- Anyone with Admin or Editor access can view and edit the pitch.
- You can edit your pitch up to release day, but there's no guarantee our editors will see the changes.
- Once a song has gone live, it's no longer eligible for pitching.
Videos
- Song and video pitches are separate.
- You can pitch multiple eligible videos at the same time.
- If your video was delivered by a label or distributor, anyone with Admin or Editor access on the artist team, or a label team with rights to the release, can pitch it.
- If your video was uploaded through Spotify for Artists, only the team that uploaded the video can pitch it.
- Only one pitch exists for each video. If multiple eligible teams have access to the same video, they'll see and edit the same pitch.
- Pitching doesn't guarantee playlist placement.

See if your song or video gets playlisted
Check the Music > Playlists tab in Spotify for Artists when your song or video goes live.
Our editors might pick a different song than the one you pitched.
Pitching doesn't guarantee placement
If your song or video doesn't get picked, it may still get discovered later. Stay on our editors' radar by building your fanbase and engaging with your audience on Spotify and beyond.
Submitting a song pitch at least 7 days before release day gets your song on your followers' Release Radar playlists. You can also pin your song to your This Is playlist if you're eligible for one.
Pinning a pitched song to your This Is playlist
You can pin the song that you pitched to your This Is playlist if you're eligible for one.
Once your new song is available to listeners on Spotify, pinning takes around 3 days.
You can only submit one pin request at a time. Once your pinned song goes live, you can submit another request.
Songs are pinned to your This Is playlist for up to 28 days after release in the order they were requested, with the earliest pinned song appearing first.
About label-only song pitches
Licensors and labels can make a song pitch label-only.
Artists and managers can see the song and who pitched it, but can't edit or view some pitch details, such as genre, mood, and culture tags.
